Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association (CAMRA),
and deployed as Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Mountain Rescue (MCSO-MR) team, is a highly motivated,
expertly trained, technical rescue team dedicated to saving lives through:
- Search and Rescue Operations
- Wilderness Emergency Medical Services
- Outdoor Safety Education
MCSO-MR provides the technical Search and Rescue services to this fifth largest county in the United States
(9336 square miles), rising from desert floor to over 7,700 feet. Members of MCSO-MR operate
anywhere, anytime, in any weather. The team is a fully accredited member of the
Mountain Rescue Association (MRA).

Do we charge?
MCSO-MR is a non-profit organization comprised entirely of unpaid professionals. We do not charge
for SAR. We survive on donations and grants. Please check our Fundraising section for details.
MCSO-MR meets and exceeds the criteria of a Type I Mountain SAR Resource under the U.S. Federal FEMA / NIMS criteria.
